Consume Tiger Bar

The word is that in twenty years time Cathy Naden and Claire Marshall will open the Tiger Bar. Tonight will be their first rehearsal. 

There will be an upturned surfboard, stacks of beer crates and who knows what next as the alcohol flows?

There should be toasts, old songs and fallings in love. There's bound to be some very bad, very cheap jokes. There could be loose tongues and louche behaviour, old scores settled and new pacts forged.

Someone may take a tumble. Bills won't get paid.

The bar is open. No reasonable request refused.

 

It was a summer evening at a swimming club hidden away in the middle of Frankfurt´s East Docks. Perched right over the very still, green water was a wooden pavilion which was being run as a small bar by a guy known as Gabor.

Gabor was about to allow his bar to be consumed.
The Tigers, Cathy Naden and Claire Marshall, brought their palm trees and fairy lights, donned their tiger ears, took over a corner of the bar and demanded their bottle of Absolut.

Local collective memory agrees that there were many toasts read out by the Tigers, much vodka, toast requests from the punters, tigers requesting specific music from the panther, the panther not quite getting the music on fast enough, flying onions, the panther crying, someone shouting “true feelings”, some spot-lit synchronised swimming, a cheap trick with the p.a. system burning slowly out which could not dampen down the free spirited dancing and even the lack of a stage didn´t stop the stage diving.
